Toronto Market Week: Snowstorms, Dreams & a Moment We’ll Never Forget (Part 3)

We woke up to… no snow.

Yet.

But social media was filled with warnings — storm alerts everywhere. Still, we told ourselves: hopefully everyone has already arrived safely in Toronto and is ready to shop.

We knew the day might be slower because of the weather, but we got ready anyway — excited, hopeful, and ready to take on whatever the day brought.

For Day 2, we chose denim. Comfortable enough to hunker down in a snowstorm, while still looking chic — always.

The morning started slow.
Planes were grounded.
Highways were closed.
And the snow was coming down fast.

With no windows in the hall, we kept venturing off to the security window just to see what was happening outside. Some exhibitors didn’t even attempt coming in — choosing to stay warm and safe in their rooms or at home.

Not us.

We were there. On a mission. Ready to share LOXX with anyone who made it through the storm.

We chatted with buyers, wrote up a few orders, and had some really lovely conversations. Then… something happened that we never expected.

A group of beautiful women rounded the corner and stopped at a nearby booth.

Jaclyn — perhaps Jillian Harris’ biggest fan — suddenly whispers to me:
“I think that’s Jillian Harris.”
“And I think that’s her friend too.”

I said, “No way. Here? In this snowstorm? It can’t be.”

But Jaclyn was insistent.

Then she turned around.

“Oh. My. God. It IS Jillian Harris.”

Jaclyn lit up like a Christmas tree. As I gently tapped her arm and said, “Don’t fan girl too hard,” — somewhat joking, somewhat serious 😅

And then… they walked toward our booth.

NO. WAY.

Jillian was immediately so incredibly kind — warm, genuine, and friendly, like someone you’ve known for years. She smelled all of our fragrances and truly seemed to love them. Meanwhile, we were standing there in complete shock that she was at our booth… during a snowstorm… at Toronto Market Week.

Since day one, being in the Jilly Box has been a dream of ours. And in that moment, we thought — maybe this means we’re one step closer.

We chatted with Jillian and her team for about ten minutes, took photos (of course), and shared how we’ve applied multiple times for the Jilly Box and hope one day to be endorsed by her.

And then it happened.

We were handed a card.

GAH!!!

They were navigating the storm themselves and had other events to get to, so after chatting they headed off — not before we sent them on their way with samples of our products.

We were screaming internally.

Then we realized…

We forgot the rollerballs.

The very thing they were interested in.

Thankfully, Jaclyn sprinted down the aisle to make sure the rollerballs made it into their gift bag. Crisis averted.

It took us a while to calm down after that. What we once thought was only a dream suddenly felt like it could become a reality. Maybe — just maybe — LOXX could one day be in a Jilly Box.

The entire venue was buzzing. All of us stuck together in this massive snowstorm, but riding the excitement of that unforgettable interaction.

The rest of the day was incredible — even more orders than Day 1, deeper connections, and new friendships formed.

At 6:00 PM, the show wrapped up. We were still riding the high of the day and ready to celebrate meeting Jaclyn’s idol…

Until we walked outside.

The wind was howling.
Snow was flying.
Cars were buried.

Legit buried.

I have never seen that much snow in my life. It felt like climbing Mount Everest just to reach the Bronco. We pushed through massive snowbanks, soaked, freezing, and laughing at the insanity of it all.

Thankfully, the Bronco is an absolute beast and powered right through the snow like a champ.

We made it safely back to the hotel — only to find absolute chaos. Grounded flights, the massive show, and regular travelers had the hotel and restaurant completely packed.

Parking was another adventure. After navigating mountains of snow, Jaclyn backed into a spot — over a curb 😅 — straight into deep, fluffy snow.

We made it.

As I stepped out of the car, I immediately sank knee-deep into the parking lot snow — not a snowbank, the actual parking lot. Freezing. Wet. Laughing.

Jaclyn, still in her denim dress, and me soaked to the knees — we trekked through the storm into the hotel.

We changed immediately into pajamas and debated dinner… but after the day we had, there was no question.

We had to celebrate.

Because this journey isn’t over.

There were more days to come… and even more memories waiting to be made.

💛
